While at it, Amitabh is also making the most of the situation by getting Rishi to click several pictures of him that he can then post on social media. Anyone who follows the mega star on Twitter, knows just how fond he is of the medium. He is so savvy that he ensures he wishes all his fans on every occasion with a personalised message. Rishi can certainly borrow a tip or two from his onscreen dad in this department. Check out the hilarious video to find out what we mean:

Isn’t it funny? We are all guilty of getting our friends and siblings to click pictures of us when we doll up, only to share them on social media with a string of hashtags. So it is quite easy to relate to Big B here. Poor Rishi, however, seems to be utterly confused about the goings on.

102 Not Out releases on May 4.

Brahmastra diaries: Ranbir and Alia strike a pose with director Ayan and trainer Ido Portal – view pic

It seems the cast and crew of director Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra including the lead actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are having a blast in Bulgaria, where they are shooting the first schedule of the film. A few days back we shared with you a pic where Ranbir and Alia had made a goofy face along with their trainer Ido Portal. Now the trainer has shared one more pic where director Ayan Mukerji is the addition in the pic. The trainer shared the picture on his Instagram handle with a long message gushing about director and film’s lead cast. (Also Read: Diwali moves to millennials! The world of cinema does not escape the modern battle between technology and the humans that created it. Where cinematically new technologies have opened endless possibilities for the visuals on screen, acting has suffered tremendously from these developments, along with performers and their bodies. Actors have become somewhat … Disconnected … Excessive focus on verbal communication, words and facial expression have taken center stage but the rest of the body is far from keeping up – in posture, movement, intention, position, organization and dynamics. You look at most modern films done these days and see an actor speaking – one energy but if you observe the body and especially if in movement- completely different story. Bollywood in this regard is in much better spot than Hollywood, for example, as Indian culture as well as film still contains a fair amount of movement, actors are often required to dance in multiple songs and keep somewhat mobile and coordinated, able to study choreographies, get in rhythm, move and express through motion. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate on the production of a special idea- Brahmastra, the brain child of director and good friend Ayan Mukerji. Ayan is a dreamer. An innovator and a daredevil in how he approaches things. We’ve spent a lot of time together over the last year putting imagination, mind and body into the development of the characters. My role was initially movement design for the main character and later the transmission of that design into the actor playing that role- the talented Ranbir Kapoor. Brahmastra seems to evolve in the direction of innovation, and collision/collaboration between incredible technical powers with the ever present and old skool refinement of movement, body expression dynamics and gesture. I’m honored to take part in this production but most importantly happy for the friendships and great creative times spent in the development of this film. Thanks Ayan and the whole production for your trust in me and my vision! It’s been and keeps being an immense pleasure! #brahmastra #bollywood #movementculture #ayanmukerji #aliabhatt #ranbirkapoor #idoportal

For those who don’t know, Brahmastra is an adventurous sci-fi film, where Ranbir Kapoor plays a superhero. The film is made on the lavish budget of Rs 100 crore and is the first part of the trilogy. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in key roles. The film is produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions. Brahmashtra will hit the screens on August 15, 2019, during the independence weekend.

Will Bollywood Finally Get A Non-Khan Highest Grossing Film Of The Year In 2019?

While 2018 has just begun, big producers of Bollywood have already announced their slate of release for 2019 by blocking major holidays of the year. While Eid and Christmas have been blocked by Salman Khan for the release of Bharat and Kick 2 respectively, Shah Rukh Khan is expected to announce his film for the coming year, sooner or later. The other holiday slots like Holi, Good Friday, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti have already been booked for few of the biggest releases of 2019.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat and SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 proved that with the right content, a film can set several records without getting the additional padding from the festive holidays of Eid, Diwali and Christmas.

The Khan’s apart, all other major Bollywood stars i.e. Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Varun Dhawan and Ranbir Kapoor have mega-budget films up for release and it seems that 2019 can be a year wherein one out of these stars might just deliver the highest grossing film of the year. The last when a non-Khan film proved to be the highest grosser of the year was 2006, Dhoom 2, starring Hrithik Roshan in lead.

Kesari:

The year 2019 starts with the release of Akshay Kumar’s Kesari, which is based on the infamous Battle of Saragarhi. The movie, which is a period drama, is set to be the costliest Akshay Kumar film till date (discounting 2 Point 0). Produced by Karan Johar and Akshay Kumar, Kesari is slated to release during the Holi 2019 weekend.

Shiddhat (Tentative Title):

Another mega budget entertainer from the Dharma camp is director Abhishek Verman’s next, tentatively titled Shiddhat, starring Varun Dhawan in lead. The movie, which is set against the backdrop of partition is slated to hit the big screen during the Good Friday weekend. The film is said to be a project close to Karan Johar’s heart, and the same has been in news since a long time. Initially, there were reports about Karan Johar wanting to cast Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor for the film, however, the things didn’t work out as expected.

Brahmastra:

Karan Johar announced the most ambitious project of Dharma Productions i.e. Brahmastra as the Independence Day 2019 release. The film, which is a trilogy stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead. According to reports, the film is India’s first mythological superhero film wherein Ranbir Kapoor will have the super-powers to emit fire from his hand.

Hrithik Roshan vsTiger Shroff:

Another mega film, which is up for release in 2019 is YRF’s yet untitled mega action entertainer starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in lead. The film is touted as one of the most stylish action films to be made in Bollywood and the production house has blocked the Gandhi Jayanti weekend for the release. The movie will revolve around the clash of egos between a mentor and his protége.

Taanaji:

Taanaji
Taanaji

Ajay Devgn too has an ambitious project in the form of Taanaji, which is the biopic of Maratha leader, Taanaji Malusare. The film, which is a period drama will go on floors in April 2018 and the production house, Viacom 18 is looking to release the film in the second half of 2019. The film is currently in the pre-production stage.

More than the release dates, what makes these films appealing is the fact that they would be mounted on a humongous scale backed up with the star-power of the actors who have been in the industry for quite some time. While Akshay Kumar and Varun Dhawan have delivered hits after hits consistently, the films didn’t command as universal an appeal as compared to their releases in 2019. On the flip side, the Krrish franchise has shown us the potential of the superhero films in India, and with Dharma trying their hands at exploring the genre with stalwarts like Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan and Alia Bhatt, we can expect the production house to up the standards of a superhero film in India. Like is the case with Taanaji, which is a period drama whose real potential was explored by a regional film like Baahubali 2.

Last when a Non-Khan film proved to be the highest grosser of the year was way back 2006, wherein YRF had teamed up with Hrithik Roshan. With the duo coming together yet again with HRvsTiger, we can’t rule out the possibility of history repeating itself.

While Salman Khan has two films up for release in 2019 and they can never be underestimated, as the superstar’s dominance at the box-office since 2010 is something that not many can boast about, one can’t deny the fact that with so many magnum opus starring the other major stars of the industry, 2019 will definitely be a year to look out for.

Here’s a look at highest grossing Bollywood films from 2006 to 2017:

2006: Dhoom 2 (Hrithik Roshan)

2007: Om Shanti Om (Shah Rukh Khan)

2008: Ghajini (Aamir Khan)

2009: 3 Idiots (Aamir Khan)

2010: Dabangg (Salman Khan)

2011: Bodyguard (Salman Khan)

2012: Ek Tha Tiger (Salman Khan)

2013: Dhoom 3 (Aamir Khan)

2014: PK (Aamir Khan)

2015: Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Salman Khan)

2016: Dangal (Aamir Khan)

2017: Tiger Zinda Hai (Salman Khan)

Amitabh Bachchan sends out a hilarious job application to work with Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif – check tweet

Amitabh Bachchan is one of those few actors who manages to crack us up on social media. This time, it’s not because a fellow actor forgot to reply to his messages but Big B actually sent out a job application. A newspaper put up a story about how Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif are too tall for Aamir Khan and Shahid Kapoor. Big B shared the clipping of the article and captioned it with his resume. It is the wittiest and best thing on the internet today. It definitely made our Sunday even better. He wrote down why he is perfect to act opposite the two sexy ladies in future films.

This is what the tweet read, ” Job Application : Name : Amitabh Bachchan DOB : 11.10.1942, Allahabad Age : 76 yrs Credentials : worked in films for 49 years , IN APPROX 200 FILMS Speaks ; Hindi, English, Punjabi, Bengali HEIGHT : 6’2” .. Available .. YOU SHALL NEVER HAVE HEIGHT PROBLEM !!!” Now that’s good humour. Big B found the story so amusing that he decided to cut it and save it which is rather sweet. But we can’t stop laughing at this. This is the most hilarious response to a story. We wonder how Aamir and Shahid are going to react to this. Check out Big B’s tweet right here.

We also also curious to see how Deepika and Kat will respond to this. The senior actor has worked with both the ladies before. In fact, he is doing Thugs Of Hindostan with Katrina Kaif and Aamir Khan at present. We have seen him play Deepika’s father in Piku, which was a very entertaining film. But we wouldn’t mind seeing Sr Bachchan in a couple of more films with the two women. What are your thoughts on Big B’s job application? Tell us in the comments below and stay tuned with us for more.

Amitabh Bachchan’s sudden visit to the hospital leaves everyone worried; the megastar reacts with a poem

Everyone is panicking after seeing pictures of Amitabh Bachchan from the Lilavati hospital last night; especially considering Sr Bachchan tried to hide his face with his muffler when he spotted the paparazzi outside. While some believed it must have been a routine check up. Many suspected what if it’s a sudden health scare. It didn’t take long for fans to flood the internet with get well soon wishes for the megastar, the legend and someone who is worshiped like the ultimate God of Bollywood. However, guess everything is under control as of now for Amitabh Bachchan has himself penned down a heartfelt poem on his blog, describing the whole panic situation after his visit to the hospital.

Clarifying how his relationship with the hospital has been since the time he’s born, Amitabh in his poetic language believes that if it wasn’t the doctors then he wouldn’t have been here today. He considers the hospital just like how one visits the temple. Reacting to the media frenzy outside the hospital last night, Big B admits he was petrified at first which is why he hid his face but later realised that even the photographers are just doing their job. Here, check out his poem below…that is if you can read in Hindi”

समझ आता है मुझे इनका व्यवहार ;
– Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh is currently gearing up for his next release “102 Not Out” which is one super fun father-son love story between him and Rishi Kapoor. Not to mention, he also has an interesting cameo in Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man which hit the screens yesterday. So watch out for Big B and celebrate his awesomeness, instead of getting worried about his health.
