“It’s a great honour for me to be working with such great actors and to be directed by a veteran. I am a very big Karan Johar fan ever since I was a child. So honestly, it’s very special feeling and it’s still sinking in. I am still dealing with it and I am just so nervous about the film.”

Takht also features Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal and Janhvi Kapoor.

Before making it as an actress, Bhumi worked as a casting executive for Yash Raj films.

Asked whether her stint as casting executive has helped in her acting, she said: “Definitely. It benefited me a lot in my acting because I feel my experience working as casting executive was equivalent to going to any film school.

“I worked with different directors where I used to conduct auditions of different actors, so I got fair amount of idea about what is required and what is not required to be an actor. I was enacting film scenes for 3 years of my life working as casting executive.”

Takht will be a story of a family, ambition, greed, betrayal, love and succession. It is being produced by Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta, for release in 2020.

Anil Kapoor As Shah Jahan

Dil walo ki dilli… aa gaye hai #FanneyKhan

Bollywood Hungama recently reported that Anil Kapoor will be seen playing the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the film. While the emperor is widely known for having built the Taj Mahal for his beloved wife Mumtaz, he is also been called one of the ablest emperors of the Mughal dynasty. He was later imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb during the fight for the throne.

Ranveer Singh As Dara Shikoh

💀🔱 #khilji #padmaavat

A post shared by Ranveer Singh (@ranveersingh) on

After Bajirao Mastaani and Padmaavat, Ranveer will be seen another historical drama as Dara Shikoh aka Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal’s eldest son. Apparently, he was favoured over Aurangzeb to be the rightful owner of the throne but he got defeated and killed by his younger brother Aurangzeb in the battle for the throne.

Vicky Kaushal As Aurangzeb

It’s probably because Ranveer just recently played the barbaric Alauddin Khilji that he opted out of another beast like ruler figure. It will be amazing to see Vicky Kaushal essay the ruthless ruler.

Kareena Kapoor Khan As Jahanara Begum

Kareena will be seen playing Aurangzeb and Dara Shikoh’s elder sister Jahanara Begum. Apparently, Jahanara was known for her hold over matters in the Mughal court and was known for her outspoken nature. While we’ve seen Kareena play various kind of roles, this will be the first time that the actress will be seen in a magnum opus such as this.

Alia Bhatt As Begum Nadira Banu

पलट ✨

A post shared by Alia ✨⭐️ (@aliaabhatt) on

Alia Bhatt will be seen playing a Mughal Princess Begum Nadira Banu who is the wife of Dara Shikoh. This will mean that Alia and Ranveer will be seen together again in Takht after Gully Boy. No complaints there!

Bhumi Pednekar

Rumours say that Bhumi will be paired opposite Vicky as his first wife Dilras Banu Begum. This will be Bhumi’s first stint in a historical drama as well.

Janhvi Kapoor

M 🌺🙌🏼

A post shared by Janhvi Kapoor (@janhvikapoor) on

Janhvi Kapoor is rumoured to play a helper girl in one of the female harems in the Mughal empire. After Dhadak, this will be an entirely different avatar that we will be seeing her in.

With a star cast as vast and brilliant, characters and storylines as intense, this is going to be one helluva movie for sure.

Due to the prominence of the digital age, trolls have become a common thing on the social media. But it seems ace filmmaker and prominent television personality Karan Johar knows how to handle them. Anil Kapoor wishes Arjun Kapoor all the best of luck as his film India’s Most Wanted goes on the floors today

Bollywood has become quite an exciting place to be. No, we are not referring to the obvious fame and riches it brings to all those who are a part of it, but rather because of the amazing stories that they get to be a part of. We would be  lying if we said we aren’t jealous of just how much fun their everyday life seems to be. Take for example, the latest film announcement that was made today. Rajkumar Gupta, who has delivered thought-provoking films like No One Killed Jessica, Ghanchakkar, Raid in the past, has announced his next and we can’t wait to catch it already.

Starring Arjun Kapoor, the film is an ode to the unsung heroes who strive everyday to make the lives of Indians better. It is apparently an inspirational story that will motivate the youth of the country into action. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? Talking about the same, Arjun had earlier tweeted, “Honoured to be a part of an untold story that will inspire India! #IndiasMostWanted, a tribute to all the unsung heroes who dedicate their lives to protect ours. In cinemas May 24, 2019. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. Co-produced by @rajkumar_rkg & @foxstarhindi.” The actor had, back then, informed that the film will go on the floors in August and it indeed has. The film’s director also tweeted about the same today. Here’s the tweet:

Arjun, too, seems quite excited for the film for he, too, tweeted saying, “The start of a new film always feels like a mission & this time it actually is with #IndiasMostWanted Happy & excited starting my 12th film !!! Mark the date 24th May 2019. @rajkumar_rkg @foxstarhindi @raapchik_films #IMW”

And Arjun’s uncle, Anil Kapoor, too, thinks just like every mission that his nephew undertakes, this one will be successful too. Also, he revealed his nickname for Arjun and it is quite cute, we must say. Check out his tweet right here:

Arjun seems to have consciously made a decision to work in different kind of films now and his roster reflects that. talking about the same, at a press conference earlier, the actor had said, “Namastey England with Parineeti Chopra is releasing on Dusshera in October and after that Dibakar Banerjee’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar will release. India’s Most Wanted and Panipat will also release in the coming period. The kind of love I have received from the audience in the past seven years, I hope these four films will get double or triple times the love and appreciation. It is an exciting year for me. I have finished shooting for Namastey England and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar. I will start shooting for India’s Most Wanted from August, which is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. I am trying to do different kind of films. Let’s see how the audience responds to it.” India’s Most Wanted will release on May 24, 2019.
