After the humongous success of Baahubali and Baahubali: The conclusion, producers of the film, Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni are planning a separate web series on a particular character. Well, don’t bite your nails wondering as to which character are we talking about. The makers are trying to crack a deal with Netflix India to create a web series which will be a spin off on Sivagami. Yup, the character that was essayed by Ramya Krishnan in the movie will be converted into a series which will focus on her earlier life instead. A source informed Midday, “It will be a multi-lingual web series and the first season will have 10 episodes. Gurmeet Singh, who was the associate producer on Inside Edge, will helm the project.” With so many successful ventures on the OTT platform, it was a smart decision on the makers part to have a spin-off of one of the most admired characters from the movie. The source further added, “Since the web series focuses on Sivagami’s early years, it remains unclear if the character will be played by Ramya. But she may have a cameo appearance.” The web series, will start shooting in August and will be filmed in a lavish set at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Earlier director SS Rajamouli, along with Arka Mediaworks, had announced a partnership with Graphic India entertainment company. The plan was to bring the awesome experience of Baahubali outside the movie and into comic books, video games, novels and animation movies. The director of the magnum opus had took to Twitter to express his excitement and happiness at this new found partnership and the opportunity to bring the Baahubali experience to a wider range of audiences. He was also quoted on Graphic India as saying,” Extending the World of Baahubali beyond movies allows us to reach a larger audiences and that is really exciting for me. We are happy to be collaborating with Graphic India who I believe have the best knowledge and experience in this space.
